Angela Lansbury at Signature Theatre’s Sondheim Gala

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

I was really excited when Signature Theatre contacted me to shoot their annual Stephen Sondheim Gala again this year. I was even more excited when I found out that the 2010 award would be presented to Angela Lansbury. I simply love Ms. Lansbury, so it was quite the honor. Even better, she was as cool as I always imagined she would be. The event was held again at the Italian Embassy and it turned out beautifully.

Fabulous at 50!

Monday, June 1st, 2009

About a week ago, I had the chance to photograph a great birthday party at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Maryland. I abso loved the theme and the way it was done. There’s no better way to celebrate 50 than to spend time with families and to act like a kid again. The event had over 200 guests and everyone joined in on bingo, croquet, baggo and an indoor arcade. There was a barbecue, popcorn and fries as well as a formal dinner. The perfect merger between youth and maturity…Oh! And how could I forget the bake off! There were more than a dozen different times of cakes and cupcakes made by the guests for the “Jay’s State Fair Bake-Off.” Too cute!

Here are some photos from the evening:

Blog, Philadelphia, Warehouses and Whatever Else

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

It feels like a lot has been going on, but I haven’t written about any of it. But since we have this great new blog theme (thanks ThinkTank!), it’s going to be my main goal to update at least 3 times a week. Errrr….make that twice. Yup, that sounds better. At least twice a week.

Now, on to the other updates…

1. The In the Light project is really coming along well. We finally did our first shoot in Philadelphia. It’s great working on somethng for months, but to finally see it come together…well…it’s great.

2. Speaking of the Philadelphia shoot, chances are I love warehouses and really raw spaces. I need a warehouse. The Philly shoot was at Dave Alexander’s place and as soon as I stepped inside, I fell in love. What is better than a custom built recording studio, a great view from a roof, a custom bar and a funky hallway with orange walls? Sigh…I want to move in ASAP!

3. I really plan on updating the portfolio and goodies page. Bear with me!

4. I should be sleeping, but I just finished shooting an event at the Signature Theatre and I’m excited to look at the photos. I love theatres! Make that all places creative. Photos coming soon.
